Richard Waple Speaker for: “Borrowing, Investing & FX in China – Guidance for Companies with Chinese Subsidiaries.”MMAC China Business Council’s Chinese New Year Networking Program Richard Waple has 37 years of international banking experience. The last 14 have been spent with BMO. He is currently Director, China Business Development for BMO Capital Markets, the corporate and investment banking arm of BMO Financial Group. In this role Richard is responsible for promoting the Bank’s China capabilities to clients of Bank of Montreal and BMO Harris Bank N.A. in the North America, and to their China subsidiaries. Prior to assuming this position, Richard spent 9 years as Vice President Trade Finance, advising Midwest importing and exporting clients on payment, financing and risk mitigation options. Richard previously worked in the international division of British bank Lloyds Banking Group, with assignments in Brazil, Mexico and the United States. Richard has lived and worked in Chicago for a total of 25 years, and has been married to a Chicagoan for 32. He has a Masters in Modern Languages from Oxford University, England.
