INTERNATIONAL TRADE OPPORTUNITIES IN WATER TECHNOLOGY – Wisconsin’s expertise in water technology has made the state a hub for water-related research, engineering, manufacturing and education. The M7 Water Council, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, the Wisconsin Department of Commerce and other organizations have sought to foster this water cluster by promoting increased international connections and business opportunities. In this session, key members of Wisconsin’s water industry will discuss how their companies are actively pursuing this grown global sector.

COMPLIANCE – Panel presentation followed by Q&A session William Braun, Port Director, US Customs & Border Protection, Milwaukee, will present relevant topics in import and export including the fit between USCBP and other US government agencies; penalties, fines & repercussions of common offenses; what is expected in informed compliance/reasonable care; and what top compliance priorities should be right now.
Tina Grogan, International Trade Compliance Manager, P&H Mining and Don Ellingson, Credit Manager, Alliance Laundry are two manufacturers recognizable to the MWTA membership who are also at different points in establishing their Compliance programs. Their stories of progress and best practices will be valuable to those in attendance.

BEST PRACTICES FROM WISCONSIN’S EXPORT AWARD WINNERS Each year several Wisconsin companies, small and large, are recognized for their successful international business strategies and awarded the Governor’s Export Achievement Award. This panel will highlight two past award winners and one of the 2010 winners announced at the conference. They will share their company’s best practices for export success, including what they have done to increase international sales, expand the number of international markets they serve, and/or gain additional market share in existing export markets. Come to this session with your questions for some of Wisconsin’s recognized exporters. Panelists include:
