"Country of Origin Determination - A Challenging but Critical Element of Trade Compliance
Determining the country of origin for goods exported from, or imported to, the United States is a challenging task.
There are two common types of rules of origin, preferential and non-preferential. Attend this session to better understand terms such as substantial transformation, tariff shift, wholly obtained or produced, and essential character.
Speaker:
Linda Bourdo-Zuehlke is the Global Logistics and International Trade Controls Leader for the Measurement & Control business within GE. Linda is responsible for developing the global logistics strategy as well as developing and implementing a global International Trade Controls program.
Linda works with cross functional teams including customer care, supply chain, services, and legal, to ensure their logistics, and import & export compliance program is world class, and to ensure on-time delivery to internal and external customers.
Linda most recently held the role of Global Logistics Leader for GE's Sensing & Inspection and was previously the GE Healthcare International Trade Controls Leader. Linda is involved with international trade activities in the Wisconsin area and has been an instructor for import compliance at Waukesha County Technical College. She is a Licensed Customs Broker as well as a Certified Global Business Professional.
Prior to her roles at GE, Linda managed logistics and import/export compliance at Trek Bicycle. She also had a career at United Parcel service.
Linda holds a Bachelor degree in Business Relations from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. Linda is based in Waukesha, Wisconsin. |
