At one past midnight on the third Thursday of each November, from little villages all over France a million cases of Beaujolais Nouveau begin their journey through a sleeping France to Paris for immediate shipment to all parts of the world. In Milwaukee, at the Alliance Francaise 12th annual Fete du Beaujolais Nouveau, the featured Beaujolais wine will be Georges Duboeuf’s Beaujolais Nouveau poured by wine distributor Scott Schlicher who has personally met Georges Duboeuf. This year’s menu is “A Taste of France”, featuring French favorites from many of Milwaukee’s finest chefs, including: Le Reve, Mason Street Grill, Sully’s, the Soup Market, Larry’s Market, and Zeste.
This fete is for all those interested in France and French culture, French music, and of course French wine. Entertainment and a raffle and live auction will complete the evening’s fun. Held in a state of art LEED (“green”) building at the Manpower World Headquarters, the event hall has floor-to-ceiling windows with a spectacular view overlooking the river.
