Mr. Georges Schmit, Consul General of Luxembourg and Executive Director of the Luxembourg Board of Economic Development-Trade and Investment Office in San Francisco, will look at the current economic situation in the European Union and in Luxembourg, and the business and economic outlook for 2010.

Mr. Schmit is the former Director General for Enterprise Policy, Economic Development and Foreign Trade at the Luxembourg Ministry of the Economy and Foreign Trade. He will make his first visit to Milwaukee and will review the recovery now underway in the EU, as well as benefits available to U.S. companies who want to expand into Europe. Topics will include a presentation of Luxembourg’s main economic policy topics including the financial services industry, the 7th largest in the world, along with new tax and IP licensing policies.
